Your Questions, Answered

  • Provided you feel we’re a good therapeutic fit, which can take a few sessions to determine, we will plan to meet weekly when beginning our process together. This frame supports us in working towards meeting your goals in a more targeted way and allows me to provide the best possible care for you that I can. Because of this, I do not offer every-other week sessions or other reduced frequencies until you have met most of your goals. I also offer sessions at more than once a week for those who are interested.

Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

  • I do not accept insurance as a direct form of payment for therapy sessions. However, many of the clients I see receive reimbursement from their insurance companies for part of the cost of sessions, and it’s my goal to help make this possible for you. The group practice I’m with has a medical billing team that can verify your insurance benefits before we meet or even schedule our first session. That way, before we begin a therapy process together, you’ll know ahead of time if and how much your insurance will reimburse you and can make decisions about your care accordingly.

Whether or not you receive reimbursement for sessions from your insurance company, you are also welcome to pay for sessions with an HSA/FSA.

  • Yes. For those local to Orange County, I have in person offices in Newport Beach (near John Wayne airport) and Brea. For those who are not local to Orange County but reside within California, we can meet virtually through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform that’s user-friendly and easy to navigate.

  • Yes! Many of my clients find me because they are specifically searching for a Catholic/Christian therapist who understands their faith and will honor and integrate this in the therapeutic process. This looks different for every client. For some, it’s enough to know there is a shared faith identity, and for others there is a desire for more intentional integration of faith into the work. If any faith integration into therapy would be meaningful for you, we’ll discuss what you might like this to look like in our work together and honor your preferences every step of the way.

If you have a different faith or spiritual background, I encourage you to reach out. I work well with clients who desire to honor their spirituality and who are seeking a clinician who works from a framework of seeing the human person as body, mind, and spirit. If this applies to you, we’ll explore together how you’d like to honor your faith tradition and/or spirituality in our work.

If you are not a person of faith or have a complicated relationship with religion/spirituality, there is absolutely a place for you here. If desired, we can explore together your values and where meaning, purpose, and identity can be found.

  • Yes. I offer a free 10-15 minute phone consultation before scheduling. On these calls, I’ll want to hear a bit more about what you’re looking for in a therapist for yourself/your loved one, what brings you to seek therapy at this time, and any questions you might have for me about my availability, the financial aspects of therapy, and anything else. I’ll share a bit about how I work and my background, and then from there, we’ll look to schedule a first session.
