Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

My name is Olivia Carr, and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. I provide psychotherapy to kids, teens, adults of all ages, and couples throughout Orange County with Cura Counseling. I see clients in-person in Newport Beach/Irvine and Brea, and I offer virtual sessions for clients located throughout California.

I’m passionate about supporting those with relationship struggles, childhood wounds, trauma symptoms, and anxiety in finding freedom and wholeness to live authentic, connected lives. Many of those I work with find themselves stuck in unwanted patterns of people-pleasing, conflict-avoidance, perfectionism, and emotional reactivity that leave them frustrated in their relationships with themselves, others, and God. I believe the more we come to know ourselves through tending to, processing, and resolving emotional wounds, the greater capacity we then have for connection in those relationships.

My approach to therapy focuses on facilitating deep, sustained change. Together, we'll uncover and gain insight into emotional wounds from the past that are impacting how you feel and relate to others today. As we identify the root causes of your symptoms, we'll incorporate techniques focused on growing in security in your true identity, emotional regulation, and healthy relationship skills.

Though all of us experience pain and suffering in life, we don't have to live out of and act from those places of hurt forever. If you desire to address mental health concerns that are holding you back from living in the freedom and fullness of who you know you were made for, it would be a privilege to journey with you.
